Greater Bendigo has recorded another 105 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

Despite the rise, after sitting at 863 on Wednesday the number of active cases in the municipality has dropped again to 833 on Thursday.

Further south, Castlemaine's Mount Alexander Shire recorded seven cases and the Macedon Ranges spiked to 60 new.

The Central Goldfields Shire recorded nine, Campaspe 18, Buloke three and Gannawarra three.

The Loddon Shire recorded no new cases in the last 24 hours.

Earlier

Victoria recorded another 13,755 new COVID-19 cases overnight.

The new infections were detected from 7625 at-home rapid antigen tests and 6130 laboratory-run PCR tests.

A total of 1057 people were in hospital on Wednesday, 117 in intensive care and 40 on ventilators.

Greater Bendigo's Australia Day numbers are expected later today but figures covering Tuesday show the municipality recorded 95 new cases.

Another 16,979 received a vaccine dose, taking the total amount of eligible people to receive their third dose to 35 per cent.

Sadly, another 15 people have died from the virus and its complications, according to Department of Health statistics.

Bendigo Health has revealed it had a record breaking weekend with 6000 booster vaccines administered.

Bendigo Health chairman Bob Cameron said it was a fantastic effort.

"They are big numbers and that is a huge number for the blitz it is just fantastic to see the community getting their booster shot," he said.
