Bendigo Police are officially treating the fire as suspicious, Detective Senior Constable Ash Sutton confirmed.
"Investigators are seeking witnesses or anyone with information or who may seen someone in the area," he said.

A grass fire that sparked in Golden Square on Monday evening is under investigation.
Fire Rescue Victoria and Country Fire Authority crews were called to the grass fire in Abel Street, Golden Square, at 6.35pm on Monday.
An FRV spokesperson said about eight firefighters controlled the fire.

"Firefighters arrived on scene in four minutes and worked for eight minutes to bring the fire under control."
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Victoria Police.
"Crews remained on scene to ensure it was safe, before they handed over to Victoria Police for further investigation," the spokesperson said.
