The Bendigo/Echuca over 50 team plays Essendon/St Bernard's on turf at North Bendigo, while next door at Shadforth Park the Vic Country over 60 team, made up of players from central and northern Victoria, plays Geelong.
Veterans cricket is growing in popularity across Victoria, with general fitness, mental health and camaraderie among the benefits for players.
"The over 50s play for points and have a finals series,'' club secretary Bill Johnson said.
"The over 60s is all about participation, but it's still very competitive. For both age groups it's a great way for players to either stay involved in cricket or get back involved in cricket.
"Our club has been running for 18 years and we're going from strength to strength. There's 40 teams across all divisions in the over 50s and 24 teams in the over 60s."
Bendigo's over 50 side to play on Sunday: Craig Green (c), Ross Brown, Craig Dyson, Neville Gilmore, Andrew Good, David Letts, Richard Murphy, Darryl Rooks, Jeff Shannon, Trevor Sing, Michael Stephens, Rob Williams. The over 60s team to play on Sunday: Russell Bott (co-captain), Peter Scullie (co-captain), Denis Brown, Chris Bilkey, Peter Cook, Jim Geltch, Andrew Gibbs, Peter Lawford, Greg Oman, Tim Spear, John Thomas, David Wilson.
