The Wycheproof Cancer Support Group, Op Shop and Resource Centre managed to raise enough funds to purchase a new Air Comfort Deluxe V2, valued at $4000.
Nurse unit manager Annie Handley said the equipment had been on the staff's "wish list" for a long time.
"Having this chair in the hospital will make an enormous difference for our staff, patients and their families," she said.
"It's more than a standard wheel chair - it's completely adjustable and comfortable enough to suit anyone's needs."
The chair boasts drop away arm rests and back wings and the ergonomic seating system, which can be inflated or deflated to provide the correct comfort and pressure redistribution for each user.
Ms Handley said coming into the Christmas period, the chair would be useful when patients are visited by their families and friends.
Other stories:
"Because it's so easy to move around, patients will be able to join their families outside in the courtyard when they come to see them," she said.
"And at other times we can take them to music therapy or other activities in other parts of the hospital."
Wycheproof Resource Centre program co-ordinator said it was an amazing effort for the community to band together and support the hospital.
"The funds have come in from a number of different sources including Cancer Support Group from over the years, the Op Shop's Beryl Dillon plant fund and events such as the 2021 Mother's Day Classic," she said.
"This fundraising couldn't have happened without the support from the Wycheproof and Buloke communities who always dig deep to support each other."
