FIRE crews have declared a grass fire in Taradale as safe.
The fire was about one acre in size and caused some damage to a hay shed and some fences.
A County Fire Authority spokesperson said crews would remain on scene for blacking out purposes.

FIRE crews are managing a grass fire in Taradale.
Country Fire Authority tankers were called to the blaze on Spring Creek Road about 1.25pm on Thursday.
A CFA spokesperson said the grass fire was spreading towards a hay shed.

Crews declared the fire as under control at 1.42pm but the CFA spokesperson said the blaze was still going.
