However, last Thursday at Neangar Park Golf Club, head PGA Australia professional Dean Dixon and veteran member Darryle Kenyon both landed aces.

Kenyon scored his on the par-three 12th, a green which if you land short or long it can leave a very tricky chip shot back to the pin.

There was no short game needed for Kenyon as his ball rolled in the hole from off the tee without hesitation.

"I hit a nice high 5-Iron which landed about 1.5m short of the pin," Kenyon said.

"From the tee it almost looked as if the ball had gone over the back, but the group ahead of us on the 13th yelled out that it had gone straight in the hole."

Kenyon - who currently plays off a 17 handicap - didn't let the buzz from the ace frazzle the rest of his round as he immediately made par on the next hole and finished the round with 37 Stableford points.

The ace wasn't his first as more than 20 years ago he made a hole-in-one on Neangar's par-three 10th.

"It was nice being able to relive the fantastic feeling of scoring a hole-in-one," he said.

Kenyon is a dedicated golfer and a familiar face at Neangar where he has spent many years playing - with many more to come.

"I just love golf. The two blokes I usually play with - we've been going at it for decades," he said.

"The older I get I am finding I can't quite hit it as far," he laughed.

"But I will literally play until I am unable to."

Meanwhile, Dixon - who made the third ace of his career - shot one on the iconic water-lined par-three 10th.

With the pin located towards the back left of the green, Dixon used his expertise to hit a right to left shot towards the hole.

"I hit a little draw which landed just left of the hole, it then took a couple bounces while following the curvature of the green and then just disappeared into the hole," he said.

"From the moment the ball left the club face it looked good the whole time...we were all watching intently after it landed so close.

"It's safe to say that I was very happy with the shot."

It might've been Dixon's third career ace - one was years ago in the United States while the other was during a practice round at his native Shepparton.

However, his latest sits at the top when it comes to his favourite.

"This one has to be the best of the three as I was able to see the ball for the whole way- whereas the others I couldn't see them," he said.

"What made it even better was I was out on the course playing with Neangar members which is something I enjoy and haven't been able to do for a while."
