Champions IGA have today presented Bendigo Foodshare with a cheque for $7,800 as part of the appeal.
Foodshare manager Bridget Bentley says that while many in the community are enjoying their newfound freedoms and connections with loved ones and the opportunity to go out and spend money, there's still a significant amount of families struggling with the basics.

"Foodshare services are always needed," Ms Bentley said.
"We've seen through the pandemic that the need for food relief has hugely increased and it's continuing to increase in the lead up to this Christmas period.
"Obviously Christmas is an expensive time with Christmas presents and other costs, that puts extra stress on families in this critical time."
The donation is part of a suite of support Champions IGA have provided to Foodshare in the last two years.
"Champions IGA stores have been amazing supporters," Ms Bentley said.
"They've been helping us to access more food through donations and through purchasing food.
"They've also offered support through logistics and warehousing and now through this really generous donation, we're really grateful to receive this generous cheque."
The donation is entirely community fundraised by Champions IGA, and will contribute to keeping all aspects of Foodshare operations running smoothly.
"It'll keep our vans on the road and our fridges turned on during this important period," Ms Bentley said.
