Areas west of Bendigo are on alert as severe thunderstorms cross Victoria, already belting towns including Maryborough.
A severe weather warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours.
Areas impacted include Maryborough, Daylesford and Bacchus Marsh.
Although Bendigo is not in the warning area at the moment, there is a chance more storms may develop over the rest of the afternoon and evening.
Large hail stones and heavy rain smashed Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula this afternoon while more storms are crossing Metropolitan Melbourne to the east.
It comes as Bendigo reached 30 degrees at about 1pm on Wednesday, with another warm day forecast for Thursday. Storms are also likely to develop on Thursday afternoon.
