Maryborough Police are getting behind Movember to support mental health and bring awareness to the local community by growing a moustache.

Senior Constable Nicholas Brennan said this was a fantastic way to raise support and money to assist with mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

"This is a very important initiative to participate in as it raises awareness and money for men's health," he said.
"Any sort of fundraising we can assist in and help raise money for that cause will help the community."
Last year the team raised just over $1000 and Senior Constable Brennan said they were hoping to beat that number this year.
So far, the team has raised just under $500.
"We try and get around this every year, it's good for the comradery and it's good for the community engagement," he said.
"We are pretty proud of how much money we have raised in the previous years along with this year's total."
