Colcough pounded the Sedgwick attack to all parts of the Club Court Oval on his way to a superb 140 from just 82 balls.

112 of his 140 runs came in boundaries, with Colclough clubbing 10 fours and 12 sixes.

Colcough smashed the first two balls he faced for the day for six off Sedgwick opening bowler Josh Cleary.

Colclough and opening partner Beau Roy-Clements (18) added 60 for the first wicket inside nine overs.

Colclough and Corey Dickins continued to treat the bowlers with contempt and at the halfway mark of Mandurang's 40-over innings the score was 1-161 and a total of more than 300 was on the cards.

Colclough fell for 140 with more than nine overs still to be bowled.

His departure helped Sedgwick slow the run rate and the Rams did a reasonable job to keep the visitors to 7-280 off 40 overs.

Dickins made 71 off 84 balls for Mandurang, while Dustin Elliott and Bailey Ilsley took three wickets each for the Rams.

Sedgwick's reply never really gathered any momentum.

Skipper Jordan Ilsley made 40 off 45 balls and three other players scored in the 20s, but the Rams didn't have anyone push on and make a big score.

They finished 7-130 from their 40 overs - 150 behind Mandurang's big total.

Mandurang shared the wickets in a fine team bowling performance.

United proved too good for Emu Creek in their first battle since Emu Creek defeated the Tigers in last summer's grand final.

The Tigers' win was built on the back of their bowlers.

On a fast outfield at Ewing Park, United did well to restrict Emu Creek to 7-168 off 40 overs.

The Tigers took wickets at regular intervals. Emu Creek skipper SImon Marwood threatened to make a big score, but he fell for 32 off 46 balls.

Mark McGregor also made 32, while Brad Rowe chipped in with 24, but appeared 25 runs short of a challenging total.

In reply, Alex Code was the hero of the run chase for the home side.

The Tigers looked in some trouble at 5-117 before Code pushed on to ensure United clinched the points.

Code hit 14 fours in his score of 86 off 82 balls as the Tigers finished 6-206 off their 40 overs.

After being held to a tie by Marong in round one, it was an important win for United.

Spring Gully's depth came to the fore in the Crows' easy win over West Bendigo.

At 3-55 and then 5-111 the Crows could have folded, but numbers six and seven Byron Perrin (44 off 32 balls) and Alex Sutton (44 not out off 37 balls) batted well to lift their side to 8-214 off 40 overs.

Earlier, Lachlan Brook top-scored with 53 and Rhys Webb made a brisk 36 off 35 balls.

Josh Kinsman (3-36) was the most successful West Bendigo bowler.

The Redbacks' reply started disastrously when round one century-maker Bodee Scullie was bowled by Sutton first ball.

The game was over when the Redbacks slumped to 4-21.

Matt Gould (34) and Fraser Gentry (29) battled hard against the odds for the Redbacks in a team total of 9-106.

The Crows had six bowlers take wickets, led by Sutton (2-13) and Shaun O'Shea (2-12).

Marong made tough work of its run chase against California Gully.

Chasing 139 for victory, the Panthers were cruising at 2-93, but they lost 5-22 to give the Cobras a sniff of victory.

Andrew Gladstone (31 off 38 balls) saved the day for Marong and saw the Panther home with 15 balls remaining.

David Blume (35) and Andrew Cameron (30) had put the Panthers in a strong position before Zac Knapman (3-25) gave the Cobras hope, while Brad Webster (2-20) also bowled well.

Earlier in the day, Jaidyn Taylor top-scored for California Gully with 43 off 67 balls.

Jordan Knight and Travis Nolan chipped in with 27 and 22 respectively.

Amarpeet Singh (2-13) and Alex Gorrie (2-11) bowled tightly for Marong.
