Mayor Chrissy Weller said the first, the Community Equipment Grants program, will use unallocated funds from the 2021/22 Community Grants program.
"This reallocation of remaining funds means Council will continue to provide financial support to not-for-profit community organisations, groups and associations for their projects, events, exhibitions and performances," she said.
"The trial program also opens another opportunity for the organisations that were unsuccessful in their application for Community Grants."
The maximum amount available for each application is $2000.
Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2022.
Similarly, the unexpended funds from round two of the existing Business Assistance Grants program will be allocated into the new Business Development Small Grants program.
"This is to support businesses to meet governance requirements, to undertake future planning or to develop new skills," Cr Weller said.
This program is targeted at businesses that have been negatively impacted by COVID restrictions.
Online application forms, guidelines and eligibility criteria will be made available on council's website shortly and advertised locally.
