BENDIGO Athletic Club marks the start of the 35th year of its popular distance series at Thursday night's track cycling program at the Tom Flood Sports Centre.

A 10-round series will be run across various distances on the grass in the lead-up to the George Flack-sponsored final on March 3.
The night's action at the Barnard Street complex begins with the junior cycling at 6pm.
It's free entry for spectators.
Many of the Bendigo region's best athletes have competed in the Thursday Night Distance Series in which George Flack's financial services was sponsor.
Last year's final was won by long-time competitor Greg Hilson from South Bendigo Athletics Club.
Athletes will race 800m in Thursday night's Bendigo Original Pie Shop-sponsored heat from about 7.15pm.
The event will be run under handicap conditions and draws athletes from a wide range of abilities and ages.
Other heat sponsors include Adam Parker Electrical, Dan Ryan Bricklaying, Hilson Builders, Kevin Shanahan Naturopath, and Peter Hayes.

November 18: 800m.
November 25: 1000m.
December 2: 1200m.
December 16: 1000m.
January 13: 800m.
January 20: 1000m.
February 3: 1200m.
February 10: 1000m.
February 17: 800m.
February 24: 1000m.
March 3: George Flack final (1000m).
