A DRIVER allegedly travelling 27km/h over the speed limit has had their licence suspended for three months.

On November 4, at about 5.50am, Maryborough Police said they detected the vehicle allegedly travelling at 127km/hr in a 100km/hr zone in Havelock, near Maryborough.

Police said the driver was issued a penalty notice which included a substantial fine and three month licence suspension.
The incident prompted police to ask residents to take care on roads at all times of the day.
"One thing to consider is at this time of the morning there are more kangaroo's moving around (dawn and dusk) and travelling at this speed makes it a lot harder to stop," they said.
