Liz Corbett will take over the role from Dave Richardson, who was recently appointed Head of Campus at Bendigo TAFE.
With close to 30 years' governance and executive management experience, Ms Corbett has served on a range of government and non-government boards.
She was previously chair of the disability support organisation Yooralla and served as president of Victoria's Disability Services board.
"I am thrilled and honoured to be taking on the role of chair at CVGT Australia, where I have served as a director for many years," Ms Corbett said.
"I would like to congratulate Dave on his term as chair, and I look forward to continuing the work to further develop the CVGT Australia business."
Chief Executive Jason Russell said he was keen to work with the newly elected members.

At the CVGT Australia annual general meeting held last week, Lee Bombardieri was elected as the deputy chair.
Mr Richardson will continue to serve as a board director.
