Carrie MacRae and her family have been decorating Rowe Street house for Halloween for 10 years. It has since become a must-see for families who enjoy the spooky season.
Ms MacRae said the family won a $10,000 prize after Costume Box, who they source their decorations through, held a nation-wide competition.
"It was definitely a surprise. When I entered I looked at some of the other places in Sydney and thought they were amazing," she said. "The prize will help with our renovations. We've got five kids, two sets twins (aged 16 and 13) and a 19-year-old."
Ms MacRae said she started decorated her home after her 30th birthday.
"When I turned 30, I started buying horror stuff. I have always loved horror movies, so we started (celebrating) Halloween," she said. "We did it for us, it's like Christmas.
"Every year we made things bigger and added to it. We never really got any visitors for years, I was excited to have four people come one year."
Over the weekend, Ms MacRae said people visiting from Melbourne had even stopped by.
"They saw us on YouTube from the competition, which was pretty amazing. But we do it for the kids and think it's pretty awesome," she said.
