BENDGO Health tested 1300 people for COVID-19 at Bendigo sites on Thursday in a marathon day demand overwhelmed staff.
The health service was able to reopen a testing site later in the day after sites reached capacity hours after opening.
Bendigo Health has confirmed its operating hours for Friday with some workers and people preparing for surgeries to get priority at McLaren Street earlier in the morning.
Friday's hours
- McLaren Street walk-in 8.30AM - 10AM: Healthcare workers, pre-ops and truckies. 10AM - 6PM General public.
- Bendigo Showgrounds drive-through 8.30AM - 6PM
5pm
COVID-19 fragments have been detected in Bendigo waste water.
The Department of Health advised there were unexpected detections between October 3 and October 6.
The affected areas include California Gully, Eaglehawk, East Bendigo, Epsom, Huntly, Jackass Flat, Junortoun, Kennington, Maiden Gully, Marong, North Bendigo, Sailors Gully, Strathdale, Strathfieldsaye, and Wellsford.
The detections could be an undiscovered new case or cases, or could be the result of one or more people in the areas who have recovered from COVID-19 but are still shedding the virus.
Anyone who lives in, works in, or has visited the areas above is urged to watch for the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms and get tested as soon as possible if symptoms develop.

Bendigo Health have confirmed that drive-through testing at the Bendigo Showgrounds is now open.
11am
MyDoc Healthcare testing services located in Strathfieldsaye are now closed for today.
The services closed their services after reaching capacity at 11am.
9am
Long queues have again formed at COVID-19 testing sites across Bendigo after a popular shopping centre was listed as a tier two site Wednesday afternoon.
Drive-through COVID-19 testing at the Bendigo Showgrounds reached capacity by 8.20am this morning.
The walk-in testing clinic on McLaren Street is open to the public from 10am but already had over 100 people lining up by 9am.
Kangaroo Flat's Lansell Square is the latest centre to be identified as an exposure site.
Lansell Square (267 High Street, Kangaroo Flat) is a tier two site between 7:45am - 4:31pm on Sunday, October 3.

Bendigo Health has asked the public to monitor the sites throughout the day.
