Constable Nick Fraser said patrols on Webb Road in Timmering detected a black 2016 Holden Astra travelling at 169 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
"Police attempted to intercept the car which was bearing a rear plate of SSF644 . . . . due to community safety concerns, the attempted intercept was terminated," he said.
Constable Fraser said the driver was male wearing a black hoodie.
