FIREFIGHTERS are racing to clean up the aftermath of a crash on High Street so the road can be reopened to traffic.
Traffic keeps rapidly banking in lanes heading towards Bendigo's city centre and a lot of cars are moving slowly after police direct them onto detour roads,
The road is expected to reopen in both directions in minutes.
Bendigo Highway Patrol Todd Deary said that the driver of a white Toyota van involved in the crash is expected to be issued a fine.
The driver had allegedly made a U-turn and T-boned a silver Nissan car that was travelling towards town at about 2.20p, Leading Senior Constable Deary said.
