The Be Bendigo Business Excellence Awards supported by major sponsor Bendigo Bank were due to be held on September 23, after previously being postponed from August 6.
Be Bendigo chief executive Dennis Bice said after much discussion, the awards committee believed that moving to a digital awards presentation was now the best option.
"We are assembling what we believe will be a dynamic, exciting and interactive on-screen awards experience". We are looking forward to taking online engagement to a far more social level," he said.
"We are bursting with excitement to announce the category winners, and the 2021 Business of the Year, and in respect to our finalists and our category sponsors, we believe our winners should be announced as soon as possible."
"We have assessed a number of digital delivery options, and will create an online event that is engaging, and provides access to a much broader audience to be part of the excitement."

Mr Bice said they are currently working to share supply opportunities with some of the local industries that have been hardest hit during the pandemic, including catering, hospitality and musicians, as they develop at-home awards meal packs for pre-order and entertainment.
"The awards committee and events team are working to release key information rapidly, however we do ask for patience and understanding as we navigate these new requirements," he said.
The announcement comes after the 2020 awards were cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Be.Bendigo runs the awards to recognise local businesses for their contribution to Greater Bendigo.
Further information about the awards format and supplier opportunities will be provided on the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards website at www.bbea.com.au in coming days.
