A MALDON man has been charged following a single vehicle crash in Gisborne South Thursday night.

A passer-by called triple zero after he stopped to assist the man who had crashed his white Mitsubishi into a barrier on the Calder Freeway just before 11pm.
Kyneton police said the 52-year-old Maldon man was allegedly in possession of what they believed was heroin and methylamphetamine.
He has been charged with two counts of possess drug of dependence, commit indictable offence whilst on bail and careless driving.
The man was remanded and will appear at Bendigo Magistrates' Court today.
