PREMIER Daniel Andrews has warned that some of the state's vaccination appointments could go unfilled if people avoided getting the jab.
More that 50,000 are currently available.
"Regardless of the extra supply coming, we have a number of appointments that are not filled," Mr Andrews said.
"Hopefully, today and tomorrow, many people watching this and listening to this will, because they're already eligible, will be prompted to go and make an appointment."
The virus continues to spread to new Melbourne suburbs, COVID-19 Commander Jeroen Weimar said.
"Suburbs like Essendon West, Camberwell, Thornbury and Fitzroy North, Maidstone and all the way down to Sorrento," he said.
Authorities expect the number of cases linked to the Shepparton area to continue to grow over the coming days.
"We now have 3753 identified primarily close contacts, a third of whom have returned a negative test result so far," Mr Weimar said.

On Sunday in Victoria, there were 22,191 vaccinations administered and 46,446 test results received.
The only Bendigo exposure site listed on the Department of Health's exposure site map is at the Delecca's in Marong Road, West Bendigo.
The store was listed as a Tier 2 exposure site on Friday after a someone who later tested positive to coroanvirus visited between 4.30pm and 5.10pm on Friday, August 13.
On Sunday, Delecca's co-owner Jason Delecca said all staff had now tested negative, paving the way for the business to reopen.
Mr Delecca said Delecca's had been lucky to have support from local businesses, and their national suppliers.
"We got ... a massive amount of support from the local community and the business community, which has been really inspiring," Mr Delecca said.
Bendigo business owners have also described the feelings of fatigue and dejection they are facing after having to close their stores following the introduction of regional Victoria's seventh lockdown.
Bendigo Heritage Attractions chief executive James Reade said people were half way through tours when news of the lockdown came in, and the business shut immediately.
"We're obviously a bit sad, a bit fatigued, we've got whiplash from open shut, open shut. It's just getting really quite draining," Mr Reade said.
"It makes it really hard to plan and support your staff when you're only getting that two hours notice."
