After receiving some backlash online, one of the event's co-ordinators said the event will ensure regional Victorians will be safe at the Bendigo Showgrounds.
"We will be capped at 300 people, each ride will have a sanitiser station and will be wiped down after each person gets off," he said.
"There will be a marshal on each ride making sure everyone is doing the right thing and patrons will have to sign in with the QR codes before coming in to the showgrounds.
"We will be checking identification and if people aren't from regional Victoria, they won't be allowed in.
"All our rides have come from either Geelong or Bendigo and our workers are from regional Victoria and have been travelling around with us since June."
After spending a few weeks in Shepparton, the co-ordinator said all staff members had been tested in light of the recent positive case announced on Friday morning.
More stories:
"I've been tested this morning and my result has come back negative," he said.
"We've all done the right thing and been tested. Most of us have had at least one dose of the vaccine with a lot of us being fully vaccinated."
He said organisers wanted families to have an event to enjoy during these tough times.
"We have a number of rides for everyone, from the dodgem cars to the Hurricane," the co-ordinator said.
"It's a difficult time for everyone right now and we want to give people somewhere fun to go and enjoy great games and carnival food."
The free event is set to run from August 20 until August 22, lockdown rules permitting.
Gates open on Friday from 5.30pm and 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.
