In a post on the Moonlight Market Bendigo's Facebook page, organisers confirmed the event set for September 4 had been called off.
"It is with much sadness, frustration and disappointment that we announce the cancellation of our first Winter Night Market," the post read.
"The Melbourne lockdown and ongoing restrictions have made it too challenging to proceed at this time."
Despite the news, organisers said another event may come up later on in the year.
"Our 2021/2022 season will start on October 9, should circumstances allow," they said.
"We are mixing things up for our new season with some exciting news to share with you soon."
The event has joined a long list of events cancelled in Bendigo and the surrounding area in the last few months.
The Elmore Field Days and 2021 Maryborough Energy Breakthrough Festival were both called off earlier this month.
The Heathcote Winegrowers Association also announced the Heathcote Food and Wine Festival had been cancelled on Tuesday.
