The Discovery Science and Technology Centre is holding a Dinosaur Hullaballoo event for children aged up to six-years-old on August 18.
"It's going to be so much fun, we hope the kids will love it," Discovery Centre early years program developer Angela Holdaway said.
"They will have the chance to meet a...dinosaur, see an interactive dinosaur show and planetarium session and a range of other cool activities.
More stories:
"We know children like dinosaurs and if we can start them early and teach them using fun activities, we'll be doing something right."
The centre will be closed off to the public to make way for the ticketed event that will run in two sessions, on from 10am until 12pm and the other from 1pm until 3pm.
Ms Holdaway said she wanted children to know they can enjoy a career in science and other similar fields.
"We want them to know that science is the future," she said.
"In the next 20 years, there will be more and more jobs opening up in the science, technology, engineering and mathematical industries and we want to start them young."
Science Week runs from August 14 to August 22.
