"GET on with it and get it completed" is the approach taken by the Loddon Valley Football-Netball League in re-starting without spectators this weekend.
And it's the same approach that following a Monday night meeting between the board and clubs also led to the league not extending out its season and re-scheduling the four rounds that have now been missed during lockdown - rounds 10, 11, 14 and 15.
As such, the league is sticking to its original season dates of the finals, which retain the top-five format, beginning on August 21 and culminating in the grand final on September 11, but with not all teams playing an equal number of games, ladders will now be determined by match ratios.
The LVFNL opted against re-starting its senior competition without spectators after the first lockdown when it could have done so on June 12.
This time, though, the league is resuming with round 16 on Saturday despite no spectators permitted, apart from only those necessary, such as carers, parents and guardians under Victorian restrictions.
"Everyone wants to get back playing and get it over and done with... the sooner we can get the season finished the better off we're going to be," LVFNL chairman Simon Tuohey said this week.
"By re-starting again this week it will give all teams that qualify at least a couple of games before the finals to get their match fitness back.
"At this stage we haven't shifted any dates around or tried to slot games back in, which gives us a bit of room to move if something was to go pearshaped during the finals series. But the motto of the league and clubs is let's get this season over and done with."
Without the re-scheduling of matches there are only three rounds remaining.
Saturday's resumption features two clashes with top-five sides pitted against each other - Bears Lagoon-Serpentine (5th) hosting Marong (3rd) and Pyramid Hill (4th) taking on undefeated Mitiamo (1st).
