THE North Central league is keen to make the most of every available opportunity to complete its season, even if it means re-starting its competitions without any spectators.
North Central will resume from its second season-pause this Saturday and will have to play its next two rounds without crowds as per Victorian restrictions.
North Central has already lost four rounds this year across the two lockdown periods, with the season having now been reduced from 16 games per club to 12.
"The board met last night and a vote was taken to play this week," NCFL chairman Tim Lockhart said on Wednesday.
"There was a lot to weigh up... in the end it came down to there being an opportunity to play this week. Kids have missed their sport for the past couple of weeks and with finals potentially starting in a month's time, if we miss this opportunity this week, who knows if you could get another one."
The NCFL has opted not to re-schedule any of the called off lockdown rounds (8, 9, 12 and 13), leaving just three home and away rounds left to play.
