As it stands the league has missed rounds 11 and 12 with 13 scheduled to be played this weekend.
Last week the CVFLW advisory committee met to discuss potential options to best see out the 2021 season, with several alternatives presented to the league's eight clubs (Golden Square, Eaglehawk, Bendigo Thunder, Kangaroo Flat, Strathfieldsaye, Kyneton, Kerang and North Bendigo).
AFL CV football operations manager Nathan Williams said the committee had presented options for the clubs to submit feedback.
"Once we receive the feedback from the clubs, which we're expecting at some stage this week, we will take on the best advice in terms of seeing out the season," he said.
The options include rescheduling missed rounds, cancelling missed rounds for a reformatted finals structure or cancelling missed games and leaving the season as it stands.
"CVFLW generally finishes earlier than other senior leagues which provides options moving forward," Williams said.
"However, we don't want to encroach on the other senior leagues finals time frames and schedules.
"As we were able to do in previous years we'd like to be able to have our grand final played a week or two before the other leagues."
Overall, AFL CV wanted input from all clubs before a decision was made.
"One difficulty is having three teams (Kangaroo Flat, Strathfieldsaye and Kyneton) all with 16 points on the ladder vying for the fourth spot for finals," Williams said.
"The clubs have all been great and understanding of the situation.
"Obviously with any fixture changes or reformat it's hard to find an option that is favourable to all clubs but we are trying our best to navigate this challenge."
FOOTY NEWS:
The last round of the competition to be played was round 10 back on the weekend of July 9-11.
Reigning premier Golden Square is currently the team to beat having not dropped a game this season.
However, there is a strong rivalry brewing just below the Bulldogs with Eaglehawk and Bendigo Thunder not far behind.
But all eyes are on Kangaroo Flat, Strathfieldsaye and Kyneton who are all on equal points vying for that fourth finals spot.
