The exhibition first opened on March 20 and has since seen many sellout sessions and days.
Bendigo Art Gallery director Jessica Bridgfoot said it had been one of the more busier exhibitions that the gallery has seen.
"It's been a great exhibition and we hoped from the beginning that this would really resonate with our audience," she said.
"Since Melbourne has reopened we have felt a surge of visitation to the region and the exhibition has been really busy and we have had multiple sellout days and sessions.
"We have been really happy with the visitation and we have seen that spilling out to the local economy.
"There has been a lot of activity in the local restaurants of View Street and it's been really nice."
Ms Bridgfoot said exhibition had definitely exceeded her expectations.
"It was wonderful to present an exhibition that had international content, when travel is still off the cards," she said.
"It has been just very jovial and joyous exhibition and we are proud of what we have achieved."
Many sessions over the weekend have sold out however, Ms Bridgefoot said new sessions have been made available.
"We have extended our sessions and introduced early morning and later afternoon sessions but there are still some spots available," she said.
Two new exhibitions will open next month much to the delight of gallery staff.
