The 25-year-old heads into the European Tour Rolex Series event at the prestigious Rennesaisance Club after last week's impressive wire-to-wire Irish Open triumph.
Herbert finished T4 at the Scottish Open in 2020 and will no doubt keep the winning momentum rolling when he tees up in round one on Thursday night.
He tees up in the first round alongside Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Ryan Palmer at 10.40PM AEST.
Aaron Rai (-11), the defending champion, defeated Tommy Fleetwood last year in a sudden death play off to win the event.
Some of the world's best golfers such as Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas will be in action as the Scottish Open has traditionally been used as a warm-up for the following week's British Open.
Herbert's win at the Irish Open secured him a spot in what will be his second time playing the British Open, and his seventh major tournament.
The victory also boosted him to a career-best 55th world ranking and 18th on the Race to Dubai standings.
