The event follows one from a successful return of the Bendigo Writers Festival in May.
The festival featured a mix of livestream and in person talks and enjoyed a strong amount of bookings from people eager t discuss the literary world.
Dr Swan, who co-created the popular Coronacast with health and science journalist Tegan Taylor, will appear at The Capital theatre with Bendigo Health's executive director of clinical operations Robyn Lindsay on August 11.
He was originally supposed to visit Bendigo in July before NSW border closures forced the event to be moved.

Dr Swan is considered one of the country's most influential COVID broadcasters and commentators. Coronacast has began in March 2020 and averages three million downloads each month.
He will release his new book next week.
Titled So You Think You Know What's Good for You?, it is based on his 30 years of experience listening to the latest in health developments.
The book covers topics from vaccinations to stress, nutrition and ageing, and is expected to be a must read for Australians.
"No-one's got time to waste on stuff that doesn't matter, is wrong or isn't focused on your needs," Dr Swan said.
"Our minds have been filled with things to worry about from insomnia, to screen addiction, to guilt about not eating a paleo diet, to when will my eggs clap out and when will his sperm, to what really can make us live longer better?
"My aim is to get you to worry less and give you the information that'll allow you to make sensible decisions, whether you're 25 or 75."
Dr Swan said people need to relax and be less anxious about their health.
"Don't necessarily trust me, trust the information I'm giving you," he said. "And feel free to question."
Bendigo Venues and Events Acting Manager Jacoba Kelly said being able to re-schedule Dr Swan' appearance was a good result.
"We're very pleased to be able to go ahead with this Bendigo Writers Festival Bookmark Event, with a new date at the Capital Theatre," she said.
"There's such a huge interest not just in responses to COVID but also to health and wellbeing and Dr Swan is one of the most respected and well-informed experts in the county.
"It's excellent to have him heading to our city at this time."
Norman Swan in Conversation will be held at the Capital Theatre, Bendigo, from 7pm on Wednesday, August 11. Phone the BVE box office on 5434 6100 or visit at www.bendigowritersfestival.com.au for tickets.
