A REGIONAL Victorian man is expected to be charged over a historic sexual assault at a Melbourne primary school in the 1970s.

Police have interviewed the 67-year-old as part of their investigation into the historic assault.
They have been told male students from the Tullamarine Primary School were sexually assaulted by an adult male teacher during lunch and or recess breaks in 1978.

Investigators are appealing for any 1978 past students of the primary school on Broadmeadows Road who may have experienced any inappropriate behaviour to come forward, in the hope it will assist their investigation.
