A spokesperson from the Macedon Ranges Crime Investigation Unit said the fire that damaged the Macedon Railway Hotel on Tuesday evening was not suspicious.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Wednesday
Fire crews took more than an hour to control a fire at a hotel in Macedon on Tuesday night.
CFA and Fire rescue Victoria crews were called to the fire at the Macedon Railway Hotel in Smith Street, Macedon just before midnight.
Arriving at the scene, crews could see flames from the roof of the hotel.

The fire caused extensive damage to the roof space, common area and kitchen of the single-storey property.
Ten CFA vehicles attended with support from Fire Rescue Victoria.
Fire investigators were on the scene on Wednesday.
