Young performers Taylah Chisholm and Liam Brown are preparing to lead Bendigo Theatre Company's first major production in two years.
It has been a long and exciting wait for Chisholm and Brown after coronavirus forced the postponement of theatre shows in 2020.
Chisholm was cast as lead character Scaramouche last year and has spent the year learning the shows songs and doing more reserach into her character. She said a return to the stage can't come soon enough.
"I'm so excited to return to stage. It cant come soon enough," she said. "Everyone involved is excited for it, not only because it is a great show but because we want to be back in theatres experiencing live shows, not sitting at home watching television."
Brown auditioned for his role of Galileo this year. He was cast in an Echuca production of Little Shop of Horrors but couldn't commit to the rescheduled dates.
"When I auditioned for We Will Rock You, I didn't care what role I got," he said. "So I am feeling very grateful and fortunate to be a part of this awesome show and I'm excited for Bendigo people to see it."
The pair both cut their teeth in Nexus Bendigo Youth Theatre as before taking the step up to BTC's hugely successful production of Wicked.
Preparing for We Will Rock has been challenging for cast and crew with lockdowns affecting their ability to rehearse. Chisholm said she hoped people would show their support for the local theatre scene by coming to see local shows.
We Will Rock You is set to open at Ulumbarra on July 8.
