That all changed on Saturday when the Hawks knocked the monkey of their backs with a seven-goal win over the Demons, final scores 34-27.
"We were ecstatic," Eliades said.
"I couldn't be happier with how the girls played, especially pulling it off in what was such a high-quality game.
"White Hills is such a humble team to play and to both teams' credit the defensive pressure from both sides was strong all day."
However, dishing up tough defence was exactly what Eliades and the squad had prepared for prior to the match.
"Our defence had lapsed the last couple of games and we knew if we wanted to win the match we needed to dramatically improve," Eliades said.
"Our three defenders Shelby Webster, Laura Gillespie and Sam Nelson stood up and played a cracking game."
With a win over the Demons the Hawks' confidence is flying high ahead of what will be another tough match next round against Colbinabbin.
"It will be another challenge against a team I've never beaten during my time, but we now know what we're capable of as a team and the confidence moving forward has boosted our morale."
Meanwhile in the other A-Grade HDFNL matches, Elmore continued its undefeated season with a comfortable 36-goal win over Heathcote, final scores 65-29.
Mount Pleasant had a challenging encounter at home against Colbinabbin, with the hosts falling to the visitors by 14 goals, final scores 57-43. Lockington Bamawm United went down fighting to North Bendigo, but remain winless after the Bulldogs secured an 18-goal victory, final scores 50-32.
