BENDIGO Police received dozens of calls throughout Tuesday from concerned central Victorians reporting faulty traffic lights.
Along High Street from Kangaroo Flat to Epsom, traffic signals were reported as being faulty throughout the day.
A Bendigo Police spokeswoman said the unit suspects nearby roadworks may be interfering with the signals.
"This is a timely reminder to drivers to know that road rules apply when traffic signals aren't working," the spokeswoman said.
"Drivers should remain vigilant on the road."
Bendigo Police aren't manning the intersections where traffic signals were reported as faulty and asked for drivers to use their common sense if they enter an intersection where lights aren't working.
To report traffic signal problems, contact VicRoads' Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70 or for more information head to the VicRoads website.
