Woodend residents were urged to monitor conditions after the smell of gas was reported in the area.
VicEmergency issued the advice warning for Tweddle Lane at 8.55am on Thursday.
The state government emergency service said there was no threat to the community, but residents should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
"If you are experiencing any symptoms that may be due to exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024," the service said.
"Anyone experiencing wheezing, chest tightness and difficulty breathing should call Triple Zero (000)."
