Society president Faye Thomas said the eisteddfod held two weeks of music categories before postponing the dance, singing and bands sections.
"We planned to have contemporary vocals this coming long weekend but clearly because Melbourne people can't travel, it is now postponed until July 10," she said. "But we are optimistic given (Wednesday's) announcements, that we may be up and running by then."

The eisteddfod is also present limited categories with the dance section cut from 14 to five days of competitions. The limited number of sections also means the Leila Watson Memorial Music Championship and dance championship will not go ahead this year.
"We've got a solo and duo dancing competitions, which is an abbreviated form of what we normally run, hopefully on from July 3 to 7," Ms Thomas said. "The bands that were also postponed are going to run on June 27 and the dnce troupe competition will be on August 28 and 29. All those dates are subject to COVID-19 restrictions."
Ms Thomas said entries for this year's eisteddfod had dropped due to young students not being able to practcing singing, dancing or musical instrument due to coronavirus restrictions.
"It was made more difficult with dance studios being closed again," she said. "The same with music in schools. Some activities were limited with choirs unable to sing together, instruments not being able to be played near each other. It has been a real shock to arts.
"We really want to get the kids back on stage to give them an opportunity to perform. After a horrific 2020, any dance or music we can put on is a bonus."
