Lochlan Steven Tatterson, 22, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and theft.
The court heard about 4pm on June 22 last year, Tatterson and a co-accused went to a rural property in Newham, about 20km south-east of Kyneton.

The pair broke into the property and Tatterson's co-accused allegedly stole items including a generator, water pump, and tools.
An off-duty police officer saw the offending and reported the matter.
Tatterson and his co-accused were arrested the next day. Investigators allegedly found the stolen items at the co-accused's property.
The court heard sometime between February 22 and February 26 this year, Tatterson broke into an unoccupied Kyneton property.
Tatterson stole 10 perfume bottles valued at $200 each, five containers of face cream valued at $100 each, and a hairdryer valued at $150.
He was arrested at his home on March 9 without any resistance. The 22-year-old made no admissions to police.
Defence lawyer Rebecca Healy told the court Tatterson had experienced significant trauma after his sister died in a car crash two years ago.
Ms Healy said her client had been using drugs since he was 13, but he was now clean after spending 91 days in custody.
The defence lawyer said Tatterson was planning to move to Portland upon his release so he could be separated from his associates.
Magistrate Patrick Southey said he took into account Tatterson's young age and the difficulties he had experienced in life.
Mr Southey said the move to Portland seemed like a smart move.
"Hopefully it's the fresh change you need," he said.
Tatterson was convicted and sentenced to four months in jail with 91 days reckoned as already served.
He was also ordered to complete a 12-month community corrections order with treatment for drug use and mental health.
