The 21-year-old guard has become a key player for Bendigo and has continued to improve with each and every season.
McLean said it was a no-brainer to re-sign with the Spirit ahead of what looked to be a strong season for the team.
"I just love the place and the program," McLean said.
"I'll be lining behind Leilani Mitchell and Tessa Lavey so it's a chance to get better and continue learning while absorbing as much as I can."
"They are Olympians and this is the best opportunity to take my game to the next level and learn from the best in Australia."
McLean joins a growing list of players signed to Bendigo for the 2021/22 WNBL season which includes Leilani Mitchell, Maddie Garrick, Tessa Lavey, Anneli Maley, Demi Skinner, Piper Dunlop and Megan McKay.
Spirit coach Tracy York said McLean was a key asset for the team.
"Cass is a versatile taller guard type who has a very good skills package both offensively and defensively," she said.
"She is a pleasure to coach and is always willing to do whatever is needed for the team.
"I believe she will continue to fit into the team seamlessly."
McLean is currently playing with the Bendigo Braves in the NBL1, an experience which has boosted her ability on the court on the back of a knee injury in 2019.
"My biggest improvement since coming back from my ACL injury is my confidence which has been helped by this season with the Braves," McLean said.
"It's good to have this season before going in with the Spirit so that I'm back to 100 per cent and can give the program everything.
"I'm getting back to my old athletic self and bringing plenty of energy off the bench both in the defence and offence."
Braves hit the road this weekend for their round six NBL1 South match against Waverley Falcons on Sunday.
Braves women will be bolstered with the recent addition of former Victorian under-20 player Genna Ogier to their roster.
