Bendigo Heritage Attractions chief executive James Reade said ongoing support to help the broader industry recover would be crucial for the future.
"The stimulus our industry received has been critical, just to survive, and we appreciate the government's response and support.
"There's still a long way to go and a lot of support needed to get us back to where we were before the pandemic."
Mr Reade said while the number of admissions to local attractions was improving, a lot of work still needed to be done to recoup the losses incurred during the lockdowns that had been enforced during the pandemic.
He said industry was also entering a period of relative unknown without the support previously provided by measures such as JobKeeper.
"I will be interested in what local initiatives there might be within the budget, and I will also be keeping a close eye n the upcoming state budget," Mr Reade said.
