The opposition leader appeared alongside local MP Lisa Chesters on Friday morning to tour the Australian Turntable Company's Kangaroo Flat factory.
"This is a manufacturing hub," Mr Albanese said.
He said Labor wanted to create a funding scheme to support manufacturing to help the sector to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

"We saw the vulnerability in our economy, the need for us to be resilient, the need for us to make more things here in Australia."
The Bendigo Manufacturing Group's chairman Mark Brennan welcomed Mr Albanese's comments.
"What we're trying to do in a manufacturing sense, locally, is trying to encourage education and support because if you double the size of a business you really need the people here who can work within that industry," he said.
"Generally it's seen to be difficult, dirty and not a career environment - nothing could be further from the truth."
Ms Chesters said her party's plan for manufacturing will help businesses like Australian Turntable Company to continue to grow.
