The 24-year-old from Bendigo and the Lady Reign team were in action recently for the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation's Spirit of AASCF, their first competition in Victoria since restrictions were lifted.
The squad placed first within their division after performing a zero mistake routine.
"To be up on stage doing what we love, paired with a great atmosphere, was truly fantastic," Theobald said.
"The vibe among the team was incredible after the performance, especially being able to hit zero means we've done our absolute best.
"That's the main thing for us, it's why we do what we do."
It had been 482 since the team's last competition where they secured the Australian title back in 2019.
Despite the length of time, it didn't phase them as they headed into the competition confident after plenty of time practicing in the lead-up.
After their recent win, they are now preparing for their next competition in three months time which marks the beginning of the usual cheerleading season.
Then in November the team will attend nationals and will have another shot at a bid to attend the world cheerleading championships in the United States.
If successful, the team will fly out to the United States for the world championships to be held in April 2022.
"We can't wait to hopefully return as the atmosphere there is unreal," Theobald said.
"There's normally around 42 different teams from 30 countries who come together to compete for the world championship title."
The team has been to the world championships twice before and were due to go over in April 2020, but then unfortunately COVID-19 hit.
In terms of passion for the sport, Theobald lives and breathes cheerleading.
In addition to working full-time, she makes three trips per week down the Calder to train with her team in addition to coaching the Melbourne University team.
"It's all pretty hectic, but I love what I do," she said.
The Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation is the peak body of cheerleading coaches and athletes in Australia and is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the sport as a respected athletic discipline.
