Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released the image of a man they believe can help them with their inquires into an attempted armed robbery in Golden Square.

The incident took place at 5.25pm on March 25 in MacKenzie Street West.
The victim was walking along the street in Golden Square when he was followed by a man who demanded he stop.

The offender then stole the victim's hat before heading in a southerly direction towards Specimen Hill Road.
Police have released a composite image of the man. He is described as between 17 and 19 years old, about 180 centimetres tall with a mullet-style haircut.
He is said to be 17 to 19 years old, approximately 5'11" with a mullet style haircut.
