Bendigo collection convener John Traill said although this year would be a "little restricted", he was excited that physical fundraising could go ahead.
"Everyone is just looking forward to the opportunity to get out and do something after last year and to be able to do so will be fantastic," he said.
"We have a number of things that are regular occurrences and we have the assistance of the fire brigade who will also be doing lots of collecting for us."
Local businesses and providers have also been part of the fundraising efforts, with many hotels collecting for the past few months.
"There has been tin placements at the local businesses and hotels which are there for the whole year and we collect them just before Good Friday and count them and they all go towards the total," Mr Traill said.
"A number of the local hotels run an Easter raffle for us, they have been sort of restricted too."
Mr Traill said he was "hopeful" the Bendigo branch could raise a high number of donations this year.
"While we are hopeful that we can do well this year, we are continuous that it might not be around the figures that we have raised in the past," he said.
"You never know though - people might be the extra bit generous this year and put a bit more in.
"We take the view though that whatever we raise is fantastic and if we can beat our previous year's total that would be great too but we just think whatever we can get will help the children's hospital and the fantastic work that they do."
Mr Traill said they were looking for more volunteers, and anyone interested in assisting could visit their administration centre at Bendigo Bowling Club on Friday morning.
"We are always looking for volunteers on the day, everyone is welcome," he said.
