With limits on class sizes for outdoor and indoor physical recreation or fitness classes removed, many fitness organisations were feeling thankful, 3T Fitness owner Sophie Hawken said.
"A lot of people have been through a very tough time and we really feel for them but we are pleased that we can get back to helping as many people as we can," she said.
Ms Hawken said with the gradual easing of restrictions, it took time for people to be comfortable in group exercise again and return to their pre-COVID routines.
"We look forward to seeing more people back in the gym, socialising and enjoying their exercise together," she said.
"It should help give people more confidence to get out and active knowing that it is safe to do so."
Other restrictions news:
Ms Hawken said there had been many changes in the way the business operated.
"There certainly have been some changes in the way we operate - in terms of shared equipment, cleaning and keeping people socially distanced," she said.
"We have had to adapt to the restrictions and changes along the way.
"During the full lockdown all face-to-face sessions were cancelled and we ran online sessions for our members, we have continued to offer that as a training option and many interstate clients still do the love sessions, along with busy mums and dads that miss our session times."
Ms Hawken thanked her customers for their constant support during the past year.
"Our business was very fortunate to be supported by loyal members who continued to support us even during the full shutdowns," she said.
"Without that kind of support we wouldn't have been able to keep the doors open - we feel indebted to them - we are relieved to be back up and running after a challenging year."
