Bendigo Canoe Club members were in action at the Vic Schools Championships in Nagambie where as a whole finished the event with a total of 22 medals.
"We're fortunate to have a fantastic new panel of coaches and helpers at our club," coach Tony Misson said.
"For some of the paddlers it was their first time racing boats at an event and they all did very well.
"Their timing, boat run, coordination and team spirit was impressive."
Misson said a recent club training camp at Eildon proved to be a major benefit for the paddlers at the Schools Championship.
"It was rough water over there on the weekend...our kids were used to it and had no problems," Misson said.
