Crews will ignite the burns from Wendesday in Eyles Lane, Denver (218 hectares); Wattle Track in Drummond North (233 hectares); Tablot's Moschetti Track (69 hectares) and View Point, St Arnaud, (103 hectares).
FFMVic senior forest fire management officer Jonathan Andrea said the burns are part of about 30 planned burns that will encompass more than 4700 hectares in the Murray Goldfields.

"These planned burns aim to reduce the spread and intensity of any future bushfires and minimise potential for ember attack and fire spread," Mr Andrea said.
"Slowing the spread and intensity of bushfires makes it more likely that firefighters can contain them before they impact people, property and the environment.
"Experienced FFMVic firefighters carry out planned burns under carefully managed conditions. We work closely with the Bureau of Meteorology to assess weather conditions, such as humidity, temperature and wind speed, and will only carry out burns when the conditions are suitable."
Mr Andrea said it was important to take advantage of cooler weather conditions to help reduce bushfire risk.
"The periods of cooler weather in spring and autumn are often the most suitable and safest for us to carry out our planned burning, which can only go ahead when the weather and conditions allow," he said.
"These burns are part of a broader strategic fuel management program that includes clearing, mowing and slashing."
