A coroner's report will be prepared after the death of a woman who was riding in a taxi in Echuca last month.

Police understand the woman, who was in a wheelchair, was travelling in the rear of a wheelchair-accessible taxi on February 6 at 12.30pm when she got into difficulty and asked for help from the driver.
The driver immediately pulled over and assisted the woman.

Sadly, the 63-year-old woman could not be revived and died at the scene.
Police and WorkSafe Victoria are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances around the death.
In February, WorkSafe said the woman's wheelchair was believed to have tipped backwards when the taxi braked.
