Uniquely, his small team of four dogs includes a pair of track record holders in Benchester and Paddy's Marvel.
Benchester set a sizzling new 410m mark of 22.66 seconds at Horsham last November.
It was the second of two track records set in 2020 by the son of Magic Sprite and Dewana Babe, who set a new time standard of 21.42 seconds over 385m at Shepparton a month earlier.
His Shepparton track record stood until March 20 this year, when it was broken by Morrissey's emerging star Paddy's Marvel, who clocked an exceptional 21.38 seconds.
Morrissey said it was 'a strange feeling' having one of his dogs replacing the other as the track record holder.
"You don't want to lose a record, even though you know you will eventually, but to win it with another of your dogs is fairly unique," he said.
"I guess if the record is going to be knocked off, you don't mind one of your own doing it."
Both greyhounds have been more than solid performers for Morrissey throughout their careers.
Owned by Bryan Rushton, Benchester has won 21 of 56 race starts and been placed a further 21 times, including 13 seconds.
The younger Paddy's Marvel has won 11 of 15 starts and been placed twice.
"Benchester has probably raced for about eight months longer than Paddy and has made two Shepparton Cup finals, so he's mixed it in a higher level and been a free-for-all class dog pretty much his whole career," Morrissey said.
"He's over three (years-old) now and probably in the latter part of his career, while Paddy is just starting out. He's only just turned two-year-old and won 11 of his 14 starts, so he has a pretty fair record.
"He's off to a flying start in his career, so hopefully he keeps it going."
Morrissey, a hobby trainer for the past 35 years, feels Paddy's Marvel, who is owned by Joel Snudden, has the potential to become a good country cups dog.
"With his early race speed he should make country cups, it's whether he can run that little bit of extra ground," he said.
"He should be city-class, it's whether he makes the elite level.
"The distance is some concern I guess in terms of those top Group races in Melbourne, but until he gets a bit more racing in him we'll just keep chipping away with him.
'I'm sure once he gets more experience we'll take him to Melbourne.
"They're both dogs, who are blessed with early speed, which always puts them in a good position."
Paddy's Marvel heads to Ballarat this Friday for the $7000 final of the Autumn Classic (450m) after convincingly winning his heat on Monday night.
Morrissey has enjoyed plenty of success in his three-plus decades in greyhound racing, most notably with Benchimes, who won the 1994 Group 2 South Australian Derby and the following year was placed in the Group 1 Silver Chief, and Kokoda Spirit, who won the 2013 South Australian Oaks and contested an Adelaide Cup.
Kokoda Spirit won 11 of 25 starts and was placed six times.
His current dogs include Brylee, who has won his past four races and 19 of 49 starts in total, and the youngster Ashlin Jem (four wins from 15 starts).
Combined, all four dogs have won nine of their last 15 starts for Morrissey.
