Government so out of touch
The damning report over the lack of support by the federal government in aged care puts another black mark against this government. Add this to the list of the slow action with the bushfires, their actions around COVID-19 haven't shown much real leadership, the scandal of inappropriate behavior by staff members, the loss of the motor Industry, the Murray Darling fiasco and the lack of support to farmers, dragged kicking and screaming to have a bank royal commission.

And the latest deplorable decision to put the children's court into the federal court system is unbelievable, the death of a system put in place by the late PM Gough Whitlam who saw the need to support families and children without the taxing burden of high legal fees that is rife today.
Another statement made by another PM in Bob Hawke was no child will live in poverty - not only have we got children in poverty, we have many people in the same situation. But this government is still keen to see the rich still get tax cuts better than the low income people in our society
But over the years, the children's court system has virtually become non-existent, causing a lot of stress and trauma.
Attorney General Christian Porter says it will be simpler and make legal proceedings more efficient - just shows how out of touch he and his Coalition counterparts are in understanding reality. They are so out of touch with what is needed and required, they are lost in the 'Canberra bubble'.

Disgraceful on multiple fronts
One had the feeling something serious was about to give, and it certainly has. The 'Canberra bubble' has been blown to smithereens. Now without entering and ascertaining blame to any individual, the most disconcerting aspect of these "incidents" is the fact they have been allowed to fester over a considerable time without credible explanations or leadership.
To continually read and hear of these "incidents" reduces our standing as a country, and treats its citizens as complete fools, as once again we are fed the usual managed-style of the 'Canberra bubble'.
A classic example of this is the PM's take on the Royal Commission's report on the disgraceful conditions of aged care. The only thing complicated about this is the unwillingness of authorities to implement stricter control over the billions of funding that is handed to these private operators, and the fact they are not obliged to indicate how it is spent, which in this day and age, is totally unconscionable and downright stupidity.
It is just disgraceful the people who helped build our country are now treated in such a degrading manner, by people who are the beneficiaries of their previous hard work.

Sign of the times
Bendigo Advertiser carried a front page picture depicting Brougham Arms (a favourite pub) owners with a sign saying "Closed due to Covid-19". I think we all need to recognise a virus does not close businesses but ham-fisted disproportionate sledgehammer state government regulations do.
"Closed due to the state government's failures" is probably calling it as it is.
